Having a nice slow morning. Nothing like bread and cold coke for breakfast. Only in Haiti… A good time to think. It seems like I do a lot of that here. How to answer the call that people suffer so much here and Haiti is deep in my heart…. I somehow keep running into Proverbs 20:24, “How can we understand the road we travel? It is the Lord who directs our steps.” I’m just hoping I’m on the right road and someday I will get to that understanding part because it’s driving me crazy. As the Haitians would say, “Bondye konnen” (God knows)…
Today Leah and I are going to visit a home for orphans outside the city to see how they function. Leah has big dreams and so we will see how what directions our steps will take and perhaps what seeds could be planted in these few weeks. Tomorrow we will go back into Cite Soleil. Just working on relationships, working on plans for the summer, working on how to come along side the people there to empower their own visions for their community. Leah is still working on plans for the summer and I don’t know if, but I’m hoping to see if I can talk to some of the women about health issues in the community. We shall see…
