The Door Reopens

It's finally time. It seems God has reopened the door to Haiti...

After three weeks of a lot of emotion and a multitude of plans from every direction, I WILL be traveling to Haiti THIS weekend. It's been a painful process, but the Lord continues to chip away at all the ugliness inside me and is still the most gracious being I have ever encountered. In addition, he has handed me a detour and am seriously waiting with excited anticipation about how everything will play out in the next few months.

And so, if you care to know, here is my current plan:

My friend, Sara, and I will be leaving on Friday, and we should arrive in Port-au-Prince sometime on Sunday (if every travel connection happens, it will be a miracle to say the least). We are partnering with the mission organization, CrossWorld, where we will be part of a small medical relief team, based in Port-au-Prince. We will be staying at a school that has been turned into an earthquake relief center of sorts, and seems to be the base for many medical volunteers. And from there, I think the work begins...

As of now, the schedule is flexible. It looks like we may be working in PAP for four weeks or so. After that, we most likely will meet up with Rob to travel north back to our Haitian home, Passe Catabois. I'm thinking it will feel quite luxurious after our time in PAP.

Please keep us in your prayers if you think of it. Specifically that we will be in the Lord's hands, we will do the work he has for us, and do it joyfully. That we could make it safely into Port-au-Prince and then just be a light to whoever needs it there. Also that we are spared from malaria (both of us), intestinal trouble(both), chocolate withdrawls (both), fits about not being clean (me), etc, etc. There is so much more (and so many unknowns), but seriously, the Lord know's what we need, so just ask for that :)
