Can you say tired? I think I’ve reached another level of fatigue as it’s only 7:30 pm and I’m trying to keep my eyes open still. Finally, a quiet moment with just the crickets going now after a day of kids, crafts, music, market, lots of “coze”, and a lot of sweat. Today – first day of Miss Leah’s camp - done. It went better than I thought. Just imagine: 40 six and seven year olds, excited out of their minds, crafts that involve paint, jewels, and lots of glue, stories about Jesus calming the storm with all the teenage workers playing out a skit that involved someone being “gwo van” (the big wind), and lots and lots of drums, dancing, and singing that stirred up quite the cloud of dust in the little school room we were placed in. Leah has employed about 6 teenage kids to help the camp function and function it did. We ended the day with some “manje” – a plate with a mountain of rice and beans for every child. I’m not sure how those little bellies hold that much food, but somehow they manage. Nice.

Since the camp will end early in the afternoons I should still have time to hang around the hospital and get in on the patients there as well as just sit and chat aka. my favorite thing to do in Haiti because it’s usually so entertaining. The hospital is still getting cholera patients, maybe several per week, but so far they have been able to manage them with ORS or IV solution, which I would say is just a blessing so far.

So in summary:
- If you can, pray against cholera for everyone, especially children of the town. That would be awesome.
-Pray the kids somehow really get this Jesus we are talking about.
-I found mangoes at the market today. Anyone who knows me knows what that means.
-I am still that person throwing rocks at loud animals at nights. Whoops.
-Rockin’ this out with Leah is pretty awesome.

Gotta go shower; not sure how this layer of sweat and dirt will ever come off.
