It's hard to believe it's August already! Time seems to be speeding by. I'm enjoying somewhat of a lazy Sunday today which is nice. This week we have been working on much of the same. Wegina, our first baby, is back with her mother at the hospital. She is still gaining weight and doing well. This morning she weighed close to 2.6 kg, which is a miracle considering she came to us 2 weeks ago at 1.65 kg. Her mother is still very sick with what we think is heart problems and swelling all over, but each day is different. It's a mystery at times and we're not sure if the family has some vodoo ties or what exactly is going on with her. It's been pretty awesome though because the four American girls here have had it on their heart to go and pray with her almost everyday. Hopefully we will see what the Lord is doing in the situation someday.

We also still have Flaynez, our other baby who is still requiring tube feeding. She hasn't been coordinated enough to take a bottle and also her breathing is still very labored. She has given us a few scares in the past week. It's been nice though, that there are three of us in our room at night, so we can take turns feeding her through the night. It makes for some tired mornings, but she has been gaining weight slowly. Please pray for her, that her lungs would be healed and she would gain weight and grow enough to take milk on her own. She also has club feet, so it's hard to think of how life is going to be for her here as disabilities make a person nothing in the eyes of the culture.

Yesterday was a highlight. Since the American girls will be leaving this week, they decided to end their trip with a trip to the beach, so Amanda and I tagged along. We rode a tap tap and walked a pretty grueling walk in the heat, but to see the white sand and crystal blue water was pretty worth it. We had a few hours to relax, swim, and soak up the sun. Uh, more like bake hardcore in the sun. I think it was magnified a few thousand times because we all left with sunburns. Most of us were pretty close to lobster color last night, well I guess just Amanda and I. Needless to say sleeping last night was a little painful, but it was worth the trip!

Anne Marie and family are back, so work should pick up at the clinic starting tomorrow!

Amazing the experiences you're having, Ryna. Glad to hear that Anne Marie is back in town. And I'll bet she's glad you, and the others, are there. I really enjoyed the story about the delivery of the baby with the big head. We're praying for you.

Hi Ryna, Grandma Addie and I just read your exciting blog for the first time. WOW! We are praying for your protection from spiders, bees, separation from friends and family, health and safety.

Please give us a few more details or pictures..What's a tap, tap? Send us pictures of the staff and hospital. Addie understands your struggle with the leg wounds as she is doing the same with Papa Dickie.

Papa Dickie and Randy are watching the first of the season Seahawks football game. Randy just came home from Alaska with our winters supply of king salmon & halibut.
Your Dad came over to G. Addies house and cooked some wonderful trout from L. Perrygin.
The Christwood staff got a kick out of your addressing a letter to Mama Addie & Papa Dickie.
By the way....Happy Birthday!

Love, Mama Addie,Papa Dickie, Randy & Ev
